VGT Spring Series Co-Sanctioned with the Lower Mainland Srixon Tour

April 30th @ Ledgeview Golf Club
It was a calm day at the Ledgeview Golf Course in Abbotsford where scoring conditions proved optimal for the first Vancouver Golf Tour event co-sanctioned with the Srixon Tour. Yesterday amongst a field of 63, Doug Morgan, the Redwoods’ Head Teaching Professional and Jeff Hallborg of Surrey’s Hi-Knoll Teaching Centre tied for first place with a score of 66. This first place finish required Morgan to make an impressive 6 birdies while Hallborg had a solid finish with 4 birdies himself. Phil Jonas’ third place finish moves him to the top of the VGT Order of Merit with a total of $1,710, which is $500 clear of 2nd place Matt Makinson. Other notable finishes included top Amateur finishers Brandan Price (70) and Junior Blair Coan (71). In the Corporate division Team Hallborg (Jeff Hallborg, Ian McMurtie, Jerry Duncan, Roger Harrison) ousted Team Budget Printing by 2 shots.
