Preparing Tomorrow's Champions

2007 VANCOUVER OPEN

Dear Golfers,

The recent Vancouver Open Presented by Perfect Lies capped a successful Inaugural season for the Vancouver Golf Tour. Our season ended in classic style as our Order of Merit leader Phil Jonas shot an amazing score of 63 to win the Open, break the UGC course record and win the overall Order of Merit. Jonas’ fine play resulted in a paid entry down to the 2008 PGA Tour Qualifying School. Justin Hyun was the low amateur in the Open and the 2007 Amateur Order of Merit Winner went to Stephen Jenkins.

Overall, the 2007 season turned out to be a tremendous success and would not have been possible without our Title Sponsor MarketPlace IGA and their supporting sponsors Coca-Cola & Canada Bread who played a pivotal role in our Inaugural season.

Our thanks go out to all of our 2007sponsors:

Running a golf tour requires a tremendous amount of support. The 2007 season could not have been done without the support of all tournament hole sponsors, the large commitment of the VGT Committee Members (Holly Pearson, Mike West, Heidi Tran) and the volunteers who spent endless hours setting up, hole spotting and scoring our Championship events.

VGT would like to acknowledge all the great golf courses that hosted our tournaments. Not only were we treated to Championship conditions all year long, but also to great reception from all of the golf course support staff. From all the positive feedback from our contestants, the overall experience was one they will not forget.
